When I got out of hospital in 2015 I was basically bedridden. ESAR Home Care support workers took on my services when I arrived home. They would transfer me from bed to wheelchair and assist me with my personal care. As I grew to know my carers so did my motivation. One day my carer suggested I try walking up and down the driveway with my walker, which I did under the watchful eye of my carer. My motivation grew and before long I was walking around the block! I have had many carers over the years and have enjoyed spending time with them all. Deb B
Funding for support to assist life with a disability
If you or a loved one with a disability could benefit from in-home care and community services, the first step is to contact the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or email enquiries@ndis.gov.au to discuss your access to the scheme. You must be aged between 9-65.
Children under the age of 9 may benefit from the NDIS early childhood approach. Contact the NDIS for more information.
